NATIONAL SEAFOOD INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - 2020

The National Seafood Industry Leadership Program (NSILP) is the only national industry-specific leadership program designed in consultation with seafood industry people for people wishing to take up leadership roles within the seafood industry.

Who Should Participate?

The program encourages all sectors of the industry including:

  • Indigenous/traditional fishers
  • recreational fishers
  • aquaculturists
  • commercial fishers
  • all people involved in the supply and value chain of the Australian seafood industry

As a program participant, you will develop an understanding of how to impact constructively, resulting in positive outcomes for the seafood industry nationally.


NSILP graduates have gone on to apply their skills to a wide variety of areas including:

  • regional network development
  • regional industry association boards
  • state industry association boards
  • reference committees
  • effective business management

NSILP 2020 Overview

  • Both programs run for six months
  • NSILP 2020 Port Lincoln Cohort, Residential 1- Port Lincoln 3-5 March; Residential 2 - Sydney 16-18 June;
  •                                                Residential 3 - Canberra 8-10 September 
  • NSILP 2020 Cairns Cohort, Residential 1 - Cairns 5-7 May; Residential 2 - Sydney 11-13 August;
  •                                                Residential 3 - Canberra 24-26 November

The National Seafood Industry Leadership Program is supported by funding from the FRDC on behalf of the Australian Government.


As a participant in the NSILP you will be responsible for the payment of a participant fee of $990 (GST inclusive) prior to commencement of the program and also for travel, accommodation and sundry costs incurred during the six-months.
